Wild boar invade the golf course

Published on Aug 23, 2017 | by Michael Coyle

There are those who would enjoy a well BBQd wild boar and few who would like to get too close to a live one. They are built like  a tank with shoulders protected with up to 9 cm thick tough skin. The big one in the picture is over a meter high to the shoulder,  probably weighs more than 80 Kilograms and can move at quite a pace changing direction in a flash. They have been getting through the electric fence and causing some damage to the golf course. This family of six were photographed early in the morning 23rd August before the golfers arrived to enjoy their day. They are primarily nocturnal so it is quite unusual to see them during the day, unless they have been disturbed.
